Traci J. Pickering

Traci J. Pickering is a family law attorney in San Jose, California. Ms. Pickering is a partner at the law firm of Mello & Pickering, LLP and has over 20 years of legal experience, much of it devoted to the practice of family law. She serves individuals and families in the San Jose area and throughout California. 

Ms. Pickering handles matters involving divorce, alimony, annulment, child custody, child support, domestic violence, restraining orders, prenuptial agreements, postnuptial agreements, property valuation and division, stepparent adoption and visitation. She provides personal and dedicated representation, using her strong negotiation skills and years of litigation experience to help obtain the best possible resolution for her clients.

A graduate of San Jose State University, Ms. Pickering received a bachelor’s degree in history before earning her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. While attending law school, she served as senior technical editor of the Santa Clara High Technology Law Journal. She holds a license to practice law before all California state courts and a certification as a family law specialist from the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Earlier in her legal career, Ms. Pickering practiced corporate law for a major law firm. When she opened Mello & Pickering, LLP, she chose to devote her practice exclusively to family law. Outside of her law practice, she enjoys staying involved in the family law legal community. She regularly speaks at continuing legal education seminars and belongs to the Santa Clara County Bar Association Family Law Section executive committee.
