After completing her associate degree in accounting from De Anza College, Ms. Duell-Cazes graduated with her bachelor's degree in accounting from California State University, Chico. She then pursued her legal studies at Santa Clara University School of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 1989. The same year, she passed the bar and was admitted to practice in California and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. She is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit since 2010.
Ms. Duell-Cazes has been certified as a family law specialist by the California Board of Legal Specialization since 2002.
