Michael Corfield

Michael Corfield practices business, corporate and real estate law as a partner at Corfield Feld LLP. His advice and services are available to businesses throughout California, particularly in the areas of San Juan Capistrano, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Irvine, Orange County and Los Angeles. He is able to serve clients of many sizes, from small family operations, such as diners and cafes, to publicly traded companies in cases involving commercial leases, shopping center construction and litigating disputes.

Mr. Corfield's bachelor’s degree in finance with honors from California State University, Fullerton, forms the foundation of his understanding of business operations. After graduating in 1985, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1988. While there, he served as the lead articles editor for the San Diego Law Review.

Licensed to practice law in California since 1988, Mr. Corfield is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Central, Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California. He spent years with two prominent California law firms before co-founding his current firm in the year 2010. His efforts have contributed to the reversal of a judgment against a retail tenant that claimed the landlord had misrepresented the costs of insurance and property taxes during lease negotiations. Mr. Corfield stays abreast of developing legal issues through membership in the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association and The William P. Gray Legion Lex American Inn of Court.
