Sami Sedghani is a California trial attorney recognized in Super Lawyers (Northern California, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) and previously in Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020). He is the founder of Synergist Law, P.C., a personal injury litigation boutique in San Rafael.
The firm represents seriously injured clients and their families in complex, high-stakes California personal injury cases, including:
— Catastrophic injury — traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, paraplegia and quadriplegia, severe burns, amputations, and other life-altering injuries.
— Wrongful death arising from premises liability, motor vehicle collisions, truck accidents, medical malpractice, defective products, and other preventable causes.
— Auto and truck accident litigation, including commercial motor-vehicle cases governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
— Premises liability, including slip-and-fall, trip-and-fall, failure to properly maintain, and negligent security.
— Medical malpractice, including Kaiser Permanente arbitration — a practice area many plaintiff firms avoid because of mandatory arbitration, the closed records system, and standardized clinical pathways.
— Pharmaceutical injury and medical device injury, including Mobi-C and other artificial cervical disc replacement failures.
— CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) / RSD — contested-causation claims where defendants routinely dispute the diagnosis itself.
Sami's distinguishing credential is medical training. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from the University of California, San Francisco, alongside his J.D. (magna cum laude, Order of the Coif) from UC College of the Law, San Francisco. That training is directly relevant across every category of case the firm handles — not only in medical-malpractice or pharmaceutical matters, but in catastrophic injury cases where injury mechanics, future medical care, and treating-physician testimony drive damages, and in trial preparation where fluency in medical records and clinical vocabulary can change outcomes.
Before practicing law, Sami served as a hospital pharmacist at UCSF Medical Center and at top global law firms, handling pharmaceutical litigation nationwide — defense-side experience that applies directly to how well-funded institutional defendants and insurers approach plaintiffs' claims.
Sami is counsel of record in Osaze v. Aparicio-Gee (2026) A173403, a California Court of Appeal opinion certified for publication, in which the First Appellate District, Division Two reversed a summary judgment entered against the surviving family in a wrongful death case, holding that the trial court had misapplied Sargon Enterprises v. USC in excluding the plaintiffs' biomechanical and safety expert declarations.
Synergist Law is intentionally small. Sami takes a limited caseload so every client works directly with the attorney on their case. Clients have his cell phone number. Cases are managed for net recovery, not headline settlement numbers.

- Wrongful death and premises liability appeal. The California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District, Division Two, issued a unanimous opinion certified for publication, reversing summary judgment. The panel held that the trial court had misapplied Sargon Enterprises v. USC (2012) 55 Cal.4th 747 in excluding the plaintiffs' biomechanical and safety expert declarations, and that the absence of an eyewitness to a fall does not, as a matter of law, render expert biomechanical causation opinion "speculative." The opinion is citable under California Rules of Court, rule 8.1115.
