Details

Through Herring Imming, Greg serves clients in "the 805" and beyond as one of the State's pre-eminent family law attorneys. The State Bar of California certified Greg as a Family Law Specialist in 2004, after which he was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2005 and of the International Academy of Family Lawyers in 2010. In 2018, he was awarded the Family Law Person of the Year honor by the Southern California Chapter of the AAML. He is the founder and Dean of the Chapter's annual Trial Basics Seminar. For his high ethical standards and list of successful results, he holds the highest peer rating possible -- AV Preeminent* -- from Martindale-Hubbell.

Greg attended the University of California, Davis, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He gained his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating in 1989. He represents clients in all family law matters. Herring Law Group also promotes the novel concept of in-house divorce coaching.

With a unique (for family law lawyers) background of practicing in federal courts, Greg is admitted to the US District Court for the Central District of California, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  Of course, he practices in all state courts of California -- and sometimes (on select cases) in other states, too.

Greg routinely speaks throughout the state on family law topics and publishes advanced family law articles. His articles and blogs are accessible through theherringlawgroup.com.

He is an active member of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists, and the bar associations of Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, and Los Angeles Counties.

* AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary.
