Karen Oakman

Karen Oakman is a partner at the law firm of Clunen and Oakman Law LLP in Thousand Oaks, California. Practicing in Thousand Oaks and throughout Ventura County, she focuses on family law cases that involve restraining order hearings and guardianship proceedings, as well as criminal defense matters, including infractions, misdemeanors, investigations and serious felonies.

From the California Lutheran University, she earned her B.A. in political science and B.S. in criminal justice in 2006, magna cum laude. She then went to California Western School of Law to obtain her Juris Doctor in 2010. While in law school, she not only interned with the San Diego County Public Defender Office, the Alternate Public Defender’s office and the Law Office of Timothy Scott, but also volunteered for the university’s nonprofit Community Law Project.

Ms. Oakman serves several prestigious organizations in various capacities, including as a vice-chairperson of the Women Lawyers of Ventura County, a board member of the Ventura County Family Law Bar Association and a board of director of Conejo Free Clinic. She is also a member of the Ventura County Bar Association.
