Troy Ortiz

Troy Ortiz is the managing attorney of the Truckee-based law firm, Apricity Law, in California. Focusing his practice on business law, real estate law and asset protection, he negotiates skillfully and drafts complex agreements meticulously to make sure that his clients receive the quality of legal service and representation they want.

Commencing his legal career as a litigator, Mr. Ortiz served a commercial real estate brokerage firm where he handled complex commercial real estate transactions. A licensed real estate broker, he is admitted to practice in the states of California, Nevada and Washington, and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California and the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.

Graduating magna cum laude from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, in San Diego, Mr. Ortiz has contributed to the law school’s law review as a senior notes editor. He is a Bachelor of Arts graduate of literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a concentration in modern literary studies. While in law school, he was also named to the Thomas Jefferson Dean’s List. His list of early experiences with law includes internships with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office and several other San Diego law firms.

Going the extra mile to exceed the expectations of his clients, Mr. Ortiz has been recognized with a “Very Good” rating on Avvo and a peer-review rating of AV Preeminent* through Martindale-Hubbell. An active participant in the legal communities across several states, he holds memberships in the Tahoe-Truckee Bar Association, the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, the Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors and more. He also takes out time from his busy schedule for pro bono activities by serving as a director for the Sierra Senior Services and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
