Ms. Ruffin earned her Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law. While in law school, she was an extern with the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal.
To give back to her community and improve the lives of those around her, Ms. Ruffin previously volunteered at the Oxnard Juvenile Justice Complex through the nonprofit Girls, Inc.; volunteered with several other nonprofits, including Just Communities Central Coast; and worked with the United Nations Development Fund for Women. She is the immediate past president of the Ventura County Bar Association, past president of Women Lawyers of Ventura County, and past president of the Black Lawyers Association of Ventura County. The Pacific Coast Business Times named her the Editor’s Choice for the Top 50 Women in Business in 2018 and named her to the 40 Under 40 in 2014.
