Ms. Welling's primary practice area is complex and class action litigation. As part of her firm's pro bono activities, she also assists individual consumers with issues involving mortgage foreclosures, credit reporting errors, and debt collection disputes. She has argued successfully before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and before California's Sixth Appellate District. Her most recent appellate success is Hewlett-Packard Co. v. Superior Court (2008) 167 Cal. App. 4th 87. Ms. Welling has lectured on a variety of class action and consumer topics, such as a beginner's seminar on how to litigate your first class action and providing practitioners with a detailed overview of the Fair Credit Billing Act. Ms. Welling has been appointed to lead counsel and/or liaison counsel in a number of class action cases and served as a member of the plaintiffs' trial team in In re Ford Explorer Cases.
