Howard Rutten

When he founded The Rutten Law Firm, APC, managing partner Howard Rutten knew he wanted to be an advocate for employees who had suffered wrongdoing. He represents clients in Studio City and Los Angeles, as well as those throughout Orange County, California, in matters such as wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation and discrimination.

Mr. Rutten is devoted to helping clients through some of the most difficult legal situations they may ever face. He is a member of the Consumer Attorney Association of Los Angeles, the California Employment Lawyers Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. These groups provide him with up-to-date information and a network of professionals useful in his practice area.

Throughout his career, Mr. Rutten has recovered significant awards for clients. For example, he obtained a $3.45 million settlement in a defamation case, and a $1 million settlement on behalf of a transgender client who suffered harassment.

In 1989, Mr. Rutten received a Bachelor of Science in business from Arizona State University. He then graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1992 from the Golden Gate University School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the school’s law review and made the dean’s list.

Mr. Rutten is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern and Central Districts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
