B. Joseph Krabacher

With a practice built on real estate, tax and aviation litigation, B. Joseph Krabacher takes an interdisciplinary approach to law. He focuses on resolving intricate business disputes through a deep understanding of both the regulatory landscape and the courtroom. Working from Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Aspen, Colorado, he guides clients around the state through mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, business restructurings, venture capital transactions, and corporate and nonprofit governance matters.

As a co-founder, owner and operator of several successful private companies, Mr. Krabacher possesses a well-rounded background and firsthand experience in handling business transactions. He utilizes his authentic experience in aviation litigation as a pilot himself, representing clients in buying, selling, financing and managing aircraft. He has also provided aerospace consulting services and helped with litigation involving satellites, transponder leasing, launch vehicles and fiber optic networks for leading companies, including Inform Cosmos, Intersputnik and the Russian Ministry of Communications (Minkomsvyaz).

Mr. Krabacher graduated from The University of Iowa with a degree in finance and accounting, forming a strong foundation for his practice in business litigation. He then proceeded to pursue his legal studies at the University of Miami School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1979. While in law school, he served as an articles and comments editor for the University of Miami Law Review and was selected as the class valedictorian.

An active member in the community, Mr. Krabacher is the co-founder of The Mercy and Sharing Foundation, which provides medical care, education, and safe homes for abandoned and orphaned children in Haiti. He is additionally a member and former chair of the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission, former co-chair of the Aspen Area Community Plan and former chair of the City of Aspen Historic Preservation Commission. For his commitment to the legal profession, he was honored as a “NITA Advocate” by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
