Christopher D. Bryan

A shareholder at Garfield & Hecht, headquartered in Aspen, Colorado, Christopher D. Bryan is the chair of the firm’s litigation department. He handles appeals and litigation in real estate, commercial and civil law, and bankruptcy cases. With the firm’s offices located in Avon, Carbondale, Crested Butte, Denver, Glenwood Springs and Rifle, he spreads his legal practice across Colorado.

With a wide area of experience, Mr. Bryan litigates community association disputes, real estate cases, fraud cases and contract disputes. He appears before the federal courts for trials as well as arbitrations, representing clients ranging from individuals and investment groups to corporations, at regional and international levels. He also provides his learned counsel to business professionals and banks who seek legal advice. In addition to this, he has handled numerous matters in federal bankruptcy courts across the U.S.

A Baylor University graduate, Mr. Bryan completed his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in 1999. In 2003, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Colorado Supreme Court.

Mr. Bryan was the former president of the Pitkin County Bar Association and the Aspen Young Professionals Association, and a former chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. He holds memberships in the 9th Judicial District Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Faculty of Federal Advocates.

Involved in various community-oriented programs, Mr. Bryan actively participates in the initiatives of organizations such as Aspen Words and the Aspen Institute. Rated 10/10 on Avvo, he has also received a Notable* peer-review badge through Martindale-Hubbell.
