Jared Decoteau

Jared Decoteau is a family law attorney at CNL Law Firm, PLLC, in Aurora, Colorado. Mr. Decoteau has several years of legal experience representing clients throughout the Denver metropolitan area in family law matters.

During his legal career, Mr. Decoteau has handled actions involving high-asset divorce, business valuations, child custody, child support and spousal maintenance. He provides compassionate and dedicated services to each client, understanding the difficult time they are going through and working hard to achieve the best resolution.

Prior to joining CNL Law Firm, PLLC, Mr. Decoteau worked as a legal adviser for an organization supporting Syrian opposition groups. He advised Syrian militants on international humanitarian legal issues and conducted investigations on crimes against humanity and war crimes.

A former resident of Aleppo, Syria, Mr. Decoteau also worked with the United Nations in helping Iraqi refugees. These experiences developed his conflict resolution skills, which he uses in his family law practice.

Outside of his law practice, Mr. Decoteau stays involved in both his legal and professional communities. He is a member of the Denver Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section. He also volunteers his time with the Colorado Lawyers Committee, Metro Volunteer Lawyers and the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center.

In 2008, Mr. Decoteau completed his bachelor's degree at Florida State University. He went on to receive his law degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2013. He holds a license to practice law before all Colorado state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
