Rachel R. Mentz is an attorney licensed in Colorado and owns the Boulder-based law firm Mentz Law, P.C. As a committed attorney with extensive knowledge of electronic discovery (E-Discovery), she handles legal matters related to business litigation, providing her legal services throughout the Colorado cities of Denver, Westminster, Broomfield, Boulder, Golden, Lafayette, Lakewood and Longmont.
Ms. Mentz has been practicing law for the last 14 years and has considerable experience litigating cases involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, company disputes, business fraud, breach of noncompete and confidentiality agreements, and real estate litigation. At Wayne State University, Ms. Mentz completed her Bachelor of Arts in French, with a minor in design and merchandising. She graduated with her master’s degree in French and linguistics from the Louisiana State University in 2004 and worked as a French and ESL teacher. She went on to pursue her law education at the University of Colorado Boulder and graduated with her J.D. in 2010.
Stepping into her career in law as a clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Mentz also clerked for a brief period at the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. At her first litigation firm, she worked closely on complex commercial disputes and played a pivotal role in obtaining millions of dollars’ worth of reduction in damages in a natural gas gathering dispute.
Further, along her career, Ms. Mentz represented high-priority clients including multinational companies on disputes regarding loan agreements, tax distribution, liens, leases, foreclosures and defects. She has successfully arbitrated several cases including a breach of software licensing agreement case, for which she obtained a full recovery for her client. At her firm, she uses modern and result-oriented e-discovery solutions and strategies which enables her to serve as an e-discovery counsel as well.
As an active member of the legal community, Ms. Mentz is a past member of the board of directors of the Boulder County Bar Association. She is admitted to appear before the federal and state courts of Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
