Managing partner of Keating and Lyden, LLC, in Boulder, Colorado, Robert Keating advises clients on various different legal matters, including business and corporate law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, taxation matters, estate planning and real estate, as well as entertainment law. A seasoned legal practitioner of 15-plus years, he has gained considerable knowledge and experience across these various legal fields and always positions himself as a client-focused and passionate advocate.
Pursuing his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, Mr. Keating was president of the Interfraternity Council and senator at the Associated Students of the University of Washington. A prime academic achiever and on the dean’s list, he received the Order of Omega Scholarship Recipient for Service for academics and achievement and was a part of the Order of Omega and the Phi Eta Sigma honor societies. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2002.
Eyeing for a career in law, Mr. Keating attended the University of Colorado Law School, and in relatively short time, rose to prominent positions in many different student organizations. This includes his role as associate editor of the University of Colorado Law Review, co-chair of the University of Colorado Moot Court Board and Treasurer for the class of 2006. He also received the William J. Bowe Memorial Scholarship and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2006.
A fervent believer in environmental responsibility, Mr. Keating was the sole writer for a Colorado Legislature report on greenhouse gas emissions and its impact on Colorado citizens and businesses, and the opportunities it creates with regard to emissions trading systems, and regulation on the state and federal level. In addition, his report pointed out specific recommendations to the Colorado General Assembly. He also served at the Energy and Environmental Security Initiative as a research coordinator and author.
Licensed to practice in the states of Washington and Colorado, Mr. Keating is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. He holds membership in the Washington State Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the Boulder County Bar Association.
