Leslee K. Balten

Leslee K. Balten is an accomplished attorney at Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C., where she manages the firm's Breckenridge office in Colorado. With a professional background that encompasses civil litigation, family law litigation, and business and real estate transactional matters, she brings a comprehensive skill set to her practice. Her practice areas include civil litigation, real estate, business and family law, with special emphasis on divorce, allocation of dissolution, parental responsibility and relocation. 

Ms. Balten's diverse background equips her with the unique ability to mediate divorce cases involving complex business issues and assets and challenging parenting time matters. She is dedicated to empowering her clients and helping them find creative and amicable solutions tailored to their unique situations and family dynamics. Her family law practice is primarily focused on dissolution of marriage actions, post-decree modifications of parental responsibility and child support, and relocation matters. 

Raised in Michigan, Ms. Balten first moved to Breckenridge, Colorado, in 2000, where she enjoyed several snow seasons before pursuing her legal education. She attended Vermont Law and Graduate School, earning her J.D. with high honors in 2007. After law school, she returned to Colorado to clerk for the Honorable Catherine A. Lemon at the Denver District Court. She then practiced in the Denver metropolitan area until 2016 when she returned to Breckenridge. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University, where she graduated with honors.

Ms. Balten is a graduate of the 2015 Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training (COBALT) and served as the Region 7 vice president of the Colorado Bar Association from 2019 to 2020. Her excellence in the field has been recognized by her inclusion on the Best Lawyers in America list in 2022. Her bar admissions include Colorado since 2008 and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado since 2013. 

Ms. Balten is involved in professional associations such as the Colorado Bar Association,  Continental Divide Bar Association and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. Her commitment extends beyond her practice as she has been involved in the planning committee for COBALT sessions for several years and is the Board Chair for the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center.
