Mary C. Baker, co-founded Cox Baker, LLC, located in Castle Rock, Colorado, with Mary Jane Truesdell Cox in 2006. Joined by their partner, Laura L. Page, in 2007, the firm has grown to seven attorneys who practice exclusively in the area of domestic relations throughout the state of Colorado.
Ms. Baker received her Bachelor of Arts in History, graduating from Illinois State University, summa cum laude, and Departmental Honors in 1986. She obtained her law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law in 1989.
Ms. Baker began practicing law in Texas as a civil litigator; however, in 1993 she limited her practice to family law. She obtained her law licenses in New Mexico and Colorado in 2001 and returned to Colorado in 2003.
Understanding that divorce, even an amicable divorce, is difficult, she enjoys the challenge of helping families start a whole new chapter of their lives, helping her clients through the transition, one step at a time.
Ms. Baker was honored to serve as an officer of the Douglas/Elbert Bar Association from 2012-2016, serving as President in 2016. She also served as Co-President of Colorado Collaborative Law Professionals, CCLP, for two terms and was part of the faculty for the first Continuing Legal Education seminar presenting "Basic Collaborative Law" for the Colorado Bar Association. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Family Law Section, MDIC, Texas Bar Association and New Mexico Bar Association, a Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors Delegate, and a Colorado Bar Association Foundation Fellow since 2013. She has an AV Preeminent® rating* from Martindale-Hubbell® and has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© individually by U.S. News and World Reports.
