Mr. Whalen's career in personal injury law has been highlighted by both professional and philanthropic recognition. Mr. Whalen was a youth mentor in Denver with the Denver Rescue Missions Save Our Youth Mentorship Program, he traveled internationally as an attorney to work with Center of Hope Haiti to build as orphanage for young abandoned children in Haiti, and in 2014 he was recognized for his professional and philanthropic leadership with The Progressive Young Leadership Award by the American Constitution Society (ACS). In 2002, Mr. Whalen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Dickinson College. He then earned a Juris Doctor in 2007 from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. In 2013, Mr. Whalen graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education Program. 

Today, Mr. Whalen is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the Supreme Court of the United States.
