William "Will" Smith isn’t just an attorney—he’s someone who truly believes in the power of law to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Whether he's helping families navigate a difficult divorce, defending a client in a criminal case, or working on helping clients with their wills & estates, Will is deeply invested in getting the best possible outcome for his clients. He’s known for his clear communication and compassionate approach, always taking the time to help clients understand their rights and options so they can make informed, confident decisions.
Will's journey into law began with a desire to serve others. After graduating from Stetson University College of Law and earning a Graduate School of Business degree, Will was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2008. He started his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the Fourth Judicial District, handling sensitive and high-profile cases. His time as a prosecutor gave him invaluable insight into the justice system and prepared him to advocate effectively in both the courtroom and during settlement negotiations.
In 2010, Will transitioned into family law, a field that he’s passionately dedicated to ever since. He understands that family law issues—whether they involve divorce, child custody, or domestic violence—are some of the most personal and life-altering challenges people face. Will is driven by a strong desire to help his clients not only resolve their legal matters, but also emerge from the process in a better place. His approach is client-centered, seeking resolutions that are both fair and lasting. He’s a certified mediator and brings a collaborative mindset to his practice, often striving to reach solutions outside of court, but always prepared to advocate fiercely for his clients if litigation is necessary.
Will is also deeply involved in the legal community. He’s written and presented on various family law topics, including nuptial agreements and child support, and regularly volunteers at pro bono clinics. Will has also spoken at conferences about civil liability and criminal offenses, and he’s been a guest on KBPI to share his insights on domestic relations issues. His dedication and excellence in the field have earned him recognition as a Colorado Rising Star by Super Lawyers® from 2016 to 2022 and as a Colorado Super Lawyer® 2024—an honor that acknowledges his exceptional legal skills and commitment to the community.
Outside of law, Will is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and mountain biking with his family. Whether he’s exploring the Colorado wilderness or spending time at home, Will believes in maintaining a healthy balance between work and life—a philosophy he brings to his practice and shares with his clients.
