Christopher T. Erickson

Christopher T. Erickson devotes his practice exclusively to Family Law. He is presently Of Counsel at the law firm Wells Family Law PC based in Denver, Colorado. 

Mr. Erickson has experience in all aspects of Family Law including dissolution of marriages, child custody and parenting time disputes, child support and maintenance litigation (establishment and modification), and complex property and financial issues. Mindful of the financial, emotional, social, and personal stressors his clients face, Mr. Erickson utilizes his formal training and experience in education to assist his clients in understanding options, formulating goals, and developing and implementing strategies to achieve those goals. While experienced in family law litigation and trial practice, Mr. Erickson understands that pursuing settlement through negotiation is generally preferred due to the uncertainty, stress, and financial impact family law litigation causes. 

Mr. Erickson is active in the Denver-area family law community. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and its Family Law section, the Denver Bar Association, and the Colorado Collaborative Divorce Professionals (CCDP). He has been a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) since 2022. 

Prior to joining Wells Family Law PC, Mr. Erickson was a Partner at one of the most prestigious matrimonial law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is a board-certified Family Law Specialist, so certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization. He has served as a court-appointed attorney for minors in high-conflict custody matters and as a volunteer settlement referee in the family law trial department in Alameda County (CA).  Mr. Erickson has supported the family courts through pro bono work and has been formally recognized for his efforts by the family law benches of both Alameda and Contra Costa counties (CA). 

Mr. Erickson has a B.A. from the University of Colorado Boulder, an M.A. in Education from Mills College's School of Education, and a J.D. from Golden Gate University's School of Law.
