A native of Colorado, Mr. Schanker obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1993, and he received his license to practice from the Colorado Bar Association that same year. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Schanker is a member of the Denver and Colorado Bar associations, and he has held a number of leaderships roles with the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association, including serving as its president as well as on many of the organization's committees. He is also the state delegate of the American Association for Justice, and he has served as a member of the organization's Leaders Forum.

Committed to his local community as well, Mr. Schanker volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Dolls for Daughters and various other charities and nonprofits through the firm's Cares Foundation. His law firm is a statewide sponsor of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

As their practice flourished, so did the opportunities to help those less fortunate who need help due to illness, injury or misfortune. In addition to monetary donations and their own personal time, the partners, J. Kyle Bachus and Darin L. Schanker, have also donated their staff's time to participate in events for Mother Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Habitat for Humanity and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
