Derek Stangeland

Serving clients who have been injured due to the negligence of a third party, Derek Stangeland stays dedicated to providing the voracious advocacy his clients need to attain justice and fair compensation. Working from his office at Jacoby & Meyers Attorneys, LLP, in Denver, Colorado, he handles matters of personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, products liability and medical malpractice, among others. He brings a comprehensive understanding of his field and unyielding compassion for his clients to his practice.

Earning his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Seattle University, Mr. Stangeland went on to enroll at Whittier Law School to bolster his advocacy skills. He received his Juris Doctor in 2016, earning a certification in criminal law and recognition by the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. He also worked with the Whittier Law Review and won the Best Junior Staff Editor Award. He was admitted to The State Bar of California in 2017 and is also licensed to practice in Colorado.

Before joining his current firm, Mr. Stangeland held an active practice in Colorado and served as an associate attorney at various law firms, obtaining experience in managing personal injury cases from beginning to resolution. Additionally, he has conducted and defended numerous depositions involving parties, witnesses, police officers, corporate personnel and medical personnel, demonstrating his extensive experience in the discovery process.
