In addition to his prior experience as an attorney, Mr. Skillern served three years as a district  judge in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District and as a court-appointed commissioner real property disputes. He is active as a teacher and author for CLE of Colorado, and served for ten years as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. 

Mr. Skillern has always been an active member of Colorado’s legal community. He has served in various roles for the Colorado Bar Association and spent many years serving on the Civil Rules Committee of the Colorado Supreme Court. In 2014, he received the Colorado Bar Association's Marsh CLE Award of Excellence for his participation in continuing legal education programs for real estate attorneys.
