As a partner at Tyrone Glover Law, LLC, in Denver, Colorado, Helen Oh dedicates her legal practice to championing civil rights and tackling issues such as police misconduct, racial discrimination, employment disputes, wrongful termination, retaliation and personal injury cases.
Inspired by her personal and professional encounters with the injustices faced by Black, Indigenous and People of Color, LGBTQ individuals, people with disabilities, immigrants and other marginalized communities, Ms. Oh embarked on a journey into law. With a deep understanding that the quest for equality is ongoing and in honor of the sacrifices made by activists and affected communities before her, she committed herself to a career in public interest law.
Ms. Oh's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work, accompanied by a minor in sociology and a certificate in human rights from the University of Iowa. She then pursued her Juris Doctor at the University of Colorado Law School, where she served as co-president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, participated in the Civil Practice Clinic and was awarded the Minoru Yasui Scholarship.
In 2019, Ms. Oh was licensed in Colorado and admitted to the Colorado Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit. Her legal career launched at a civil rights law firm in Denver, where she effectively advocated for clients in cases involving police brutality, denial of medical care in jails, free speech violations, due process issues and employment discrimination.
Ms. Oh has also zealously defended clients facing criminal charges as a public defender in Denver. In a system she views as deeply flawed, she has tirelessly worked with clients, arguing constitutional violations, seeking bond reductions, negotiating plea deals and defending clients in trials.
Returning to private practice after her public defense work, Ms. Oh continues to focus on civil rights advocacy. She represents individuals whose constitutional rights have been infringed upon and employees experiencing discrimination in the workplace. Her skill encompass a broad spectrum of civil rights issues, including free speech, unlawful arrest, search and seizure, due process, cruel and unusual punishment, and employment discrimination.
Active in the legal community, Ms. Oh serves on the board of directors and as communications committee co-chair for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association. She is also a member of the Plaintiff Employment Lawyers Association. She also dedicates her time as a volunteer attorney at the Federal Pro Se Clinic.

- Argued at the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of the Plaintiff-Appellee in Harris, et al. v. Mahr, et al., case number 20-1002 (10th Cir. 2020), on an interlocutory appeal where the Defendant-Appellant argued for the reversal of the lower court's decision on the issue of qualified immunity regarding the supervisory officer's failure to intervene in an unlawful search under the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Ultimately, the Tenth Circuit reversed due to the lack of clearly established law, granting qualified immunity to the officer. While I unfortunately lost the appeal, it was an exciting, challenging, rigorous, and growing experience for a second-year lawyer, 2020.
