Joshua D. Amos

Joshua D. Amos is a partner at Stuart & Ward LLP, a criminal defense and litigation based law firm in Denver. Mr. Amos has developed a reputation as a leading criminal defense attorney. Based in Denver, Colorado, he represents clients throughout the state and defends citizens who have been charged by the state with misdemeanors or felonies, including driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, domestic violence, murder, and other violent crimes, theft, white-collar crimes, probation violations, and sex offenses. 

Mr. Amos also has experience in civil law, including personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He provides representation to plaintiffs who have suffered harm due to the negligence of other persons or entities. The types of these cases that Mr. Amos has handled have arisen out of motor vehicle accidents, defective products, slips and falls, and other forms of premises liability. As an undergraduate, Mr. Amos attended Northern Arizona University and received a Bachelor of Science in 2004. After spending a year as a team leader with an AmeriCorps program, he enrolled at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2009. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Amos joined the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender, rising to the level of senior deputy state public defender before leaving for private practice and joining his current firm in 2016. He is admitted to practice before all Colorado state courts, and he is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar in 2019-2020.
