Katherine L. Reckman

A committed and diligent attorney at the law firm of Harrington Brewster Mahoney Smits, P.C., Katherine L. Reckman assists clients who face family law issues in Denver and the surrounding areas in Colorado. She has dedicated her decade-long career to practicing family law and knows what it takes to help families achieve their goals. She handles matters involving:

Ms. Reckman is aware that family legal issues can be stressful and contentious and finds ways to create a positive environment for couples and children of divorce. She uses her knowledge and skills to help her clients obtain favorable results and regain control of their lives. 

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from Regis University in 2004, Ms. Reckman taught preschool students at a well-known school and also provided constituent service support to U.S. representative Edwin George Perlmutter. She then enrolled at the DePaul University College of Law and received her Juris Doctor in 2012.

During her law school, Ms. Reckman functioned as a licensed student attorney at Cabrini Green Legal Aid and Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center and later as an intern at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado for the Honorable Judge John L. Kane. She also worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew P. McCallin, a Second Judicial District Court Judge in Colorado. These experiences have enabled her to understand many aspects of the legal system from different viewpoints.

In addition to being recognized by Best Lawyers for her accomplishments and commitment to client services, Ms. Reckman is rated “Good” through Avvo. She engages with several prestigious organizations such as the Colorado Bar Association – Family Law Section, the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Metro Denver Interdisciplinary Committee.
