Meghan Johnson

Practicing in Colorado since 2021, Meghan Johnson is an associate attorney with the law firm Harrington Brewster Mahoney Smits, P.C., based in Denver, Colorado. Extending a compassionate hand to the people of the Denver metropolitan area and Colorado statewide in matters of family law, she is well-known in her area of practice. 

Joining Converse University for her undergraduate studies, Ms. Johnson transferred to St. Cloud State University to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude in philosophy (2016). Receiving the Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award, she has been involved in various associations such as the Global Leadership Academy, the Gender Equity Advisory Committee and The National Society of Leadership and Success. In 2021, she graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law with her Doctor of Jurisprudence as an Honor Board co-chair, First Generation Law Student Alliance Program Coordinator and more.

Even before getting licensed, Ms. Johnson pursued her interest in law by interning and clerking at a few private firms while she secured her law degree. During this tenure, she assisted attorneys in various cases; preparing for trials; drafting pleadings, motions and agreements; interviewing clients; and researching current law issues to create relevant arguments. This early exposure equipped her with valuable insights, enabling her to enhance her representation skills for the benefit of her clients.

As a child of divorce, Ms. Johnson possesses a profound understanding of the challenges each family member faces in such circumstances. Her compassionate approach, particularly towards the children involved, fuels her dedication to representing their best interests. She actively seeks resolutions outside the courtroom whenever feasible, emphasizing a collaborative and problem-solving approach.

Certified in collaborative law, Ms. Johnson also has memberships in the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. Moreover, she has received a “Very Good” rating on Avvo.
