Following law school, Mr. Martin honed his trial skills for a number of years in the criminal justice system. He was a state prosecutor, a state public defender, and a federal public defender. He then served as a federal prosecutor for eight years, prosecuting federal criminal cases in Kansas, Iowa, and Colorado. While a federal prosecutor, Mr. Martin was twice awarded the prestigious Department of Justice Special Achievement Award.
Mr. Martin moved to the private sector in 1985 and founded several law firms where he primarily defended physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers against claims of medical malpractice. Mr. Martin now is able to use his considerable experience in defending medical malpractice cases to assist patients injured by medical malpractice. He is especially adept at anticipating the types of tactics that will be used by the opposition to defend these cases.
