Suzanne S. Goodspeed

Partner at Goodspeed & Merrill, Suzanne S. Goodspeed represents clients in Denver and the rest of the state of Colorado. Her legal practice is focused on matters of business law, including commercial transactions, divestitures, stock and asset acquisitions, and mergers. For small and mid-sized businesses, she functions as general counsel, and her experience extends to clients in the manufacturing/distribution, oil and gas, retail and restaurant sectors.

Ms. Goodspeed is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and Colorado. In 1991, she graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and then attended the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law. She earned her Juris Doctor in 1997, and since then, she has represented clients in complex cases worth more than $300 million.

A member of Commercial Real Estate Women, the Colorado Bar Association and the Denver Bar Association, she has also written for Colorado Supreme Court Continuing Legal Education. Her experience includes large asset purchases, asset sale of a mortgage company, and a $72 million development and construction loan. Along with these high value matters, she manages office and retail lease transactions, real property development and acquisition transactions, credit transactions and loans for development and construction, and stock and asset transactions.

She is passionate about helping those in her community and has donated many hours of pro bono legal services for more than a decade to a local nonprofit preschool that is focused on providing for children with disabilities. Ms. Goodspeed is actively involved in both the Real Estate Practice Group and the Corporate Group at the firm.
