Bar / Professional Activity

• February 2019 - Present: Chairwoman, Colorado W.O.L.F. (Women Owned Law Firms): a member organization of the Colorado Bar Association's Solo and Small Firm Section, the only professional organization in Colorado dedicated to women attorneys who also own an interest in their own Colorado solo and small firm legal practices. Previously this group met socially once a quarter and communicated solely through its private Facebook page, I began efforts in 2019 to raise the effect and support this organization provides its membership. After establishing the group as a non-profit organization, I invested in assisting Colorado W.O.L.F. to evolve, with the aim of providing a full range of professional, social and well-being support and resources to its members and creating a strong and integral community for women who not only practice law at the highest level, but are responsible as the key business owners and managers while fulfilling their community and family roles as mothers, daughters, sisters, and spouses. Through committees and organizational meetings, Colorado W.O.L.F. developed as a powerhouse community and continues to evolve. The organization now offers monthly professional and social events, presentations, and other gatherings - at this point held virtually - and a full spectrum of resources. With the assistance of a web designer and member feedback, I am leading the cause of rebranding the organization by developing an original mark and logo, and creating a new website to provide three functions: one-stop shop for potential clients to find knowledgeable and effective legal counsel for any situation life may bring their way; second, home base for member resources, benefits, and an internal referral network; and third, a means to share and connect with the CBA Solo and Small Firm Section community at large. We are presently recruiting sponsors and benefits by harnessing the purchasing power of the group as a whole, otherwise not attainable by individual business owners. We are also working on a series of continuing legal education events that focus on specific practice management needs unique to our members and developing presentation platforms to broadcast our members' expertise through webinars, podcasts, print articles, and client presentations. 2015 - Present, Member.  
• July 2019 - Present: Programming Committee, Colorado Women's Bar Association: special focus on assisting with efforts to increase women and minorities accessibility to judicial appointments. 2014 - Present: Member.

• 1989 - 1991: Coursework at University of Chicago Law School; awarded granted for summer of 1990 to assist Hartford County Legal Aid to staff and develop AIDS/HIV Civil Division, created litigation guide in anticipation of discriminatory refusal to allow AIDS/HIV patients into nursing home. Extracurricular: Eat Chicago; Liaison to Financial Aid Committee, 1989-1990; Law Women's Caucus, 1989-1991.
• Central Methodist University, B.A. in English, graduating with Honors after defense of thesis applying literary criticism to the portrayal of economics in early 20th Century American novels. Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities; awarded Curator's Scholarship, Scholarship in English, English Fellowship; awarded membership in various academic fraternities, 1982
• 1991 - 1992: Yale Law School, third year of law school coursework toward law degree from University of Chicago, attended with Special Student status, enrolled in regular classes, and performed independent study, presenting a paper applying the Truth in Lending Act on billing practices in the legal profession.
