Joseph M. Maher

As a Shareholder at Griffiths Law, Joseph M. Maher handles cases of family law in Lone Tree, Colorado. With an Avvo Clients’ Choice Award from 2018 and almost a decade of working in law, he has valuable trial experience and can analyze each individual case and determine the best way to proceed for his clients. He is licensed to practice in both Colorado and Maryland and along with family law deals with all general civil matters.

A member of the Colorado Bar Association, Mr. Maher also participates in the family law section of the organization. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the First Judicial District Bar Association. To give back to his community and to the legal profession, he volunteers for the First Judicial District Bar Association Mock Tournament and the First Judicial District Family Law Clinic.

Mr. Maher attended Kalamazoo College and obtained an undergraduate degree in biology before attending the University of Baltimore School of Law. There he graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor and worked on the University of Baltimore Law Forum as an article editor. He was also a teaching assistant while finishing law school and participated with the school’s civil advocacy clinic, representing individuals in civil matters as a Rule 16 Student Attorney.

Before attending law school, Mr. Maher worked in Chicago with at-risk teenage youths to develop their awareness and knowledge of civic matters as a volunteer with AmeriCorps. As a judicial law clerk after law school, he was exposed to a long list of business disputes and real property cases and highly contested annulments, divorce, child support, complex property divisions, domestic violence and allocation of parental rights issues.
