A criminal defense investigator for the Colorado Public Defender's Office was Ms. Coggswell’s first job in the legal field before she joined Griffiths Law PC. She gained important insight into the nuances of the judicial system, the regulations governing evidence, and the importance of fiercely advocating for one's client during her tenure as a criminal defense attorney.
Ms. Coggswell received her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She also attended the University of Northern Colorado for her undergraduate degree, where she majored in criminal justice and minored in sociology and political science. Scholarships and scholastic excellence awards were only a few of the many recognitions bestowed to her for her outstanding performance in law school.
Actively affiliated with the legal community, Ms. Coggswell is Co-Chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, Secretary for the Colorado Judicial Institute: Young Professionals Committee, and an active member of the Colorado Bar Association.
Having a lifelong commitment to serving underprivileged communities, Ms. Coggswell has volunteered with these groups throughout her academic and professional pursuits. She most recently volunteered her time to Denver Legal Nights, an organization that helps low-income people in the Denver Metro Area with family law matters by providing them with legal advice and representation.
Honored for her exceptional legal work, Ms. Coggswell was included in the list of The Best Lawyers in America’s Ones to Watch, 2024 and 2025, Family Law. She has also received a “Very Good” rating on Avvo. She has presented at statewide CLEs, and continues to author publications regarding current family law issues.
