He provides advice and counsel to landlords of properties associated with programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and he also provides representation to those clients as well as other landlords in eviction proceedings. Mr. Athey's construction litigation experience has involved the representation of developers as well as general contractors and subcontractors in complex disputes.

    In addition to being a forceful courtroom advocate, Mr. Athey also has extensive experience in mediation, negotiations and arbitration, and he will often assist his clients in attempting to reach an accord by the use of one of those alternative dispute resolution methods.     Majoring in English and political science, Mr. Athey obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and he received a Bachelor of Arts in 2009. He then went on to attend the Barry University - Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2012. Mr. Athey is active in the Weld County Bar Association and other professional groups.
