Joseph P. LoRusso

Joseph P. LoRusso holds the position of Director of Aviation at Ramos Law, which has offices in Arizona and Colorado Springs, Denver and Grand Junction, in Colorado. Joining Ramos Law in 2021, he brings to the table a remarkable career that spans over two decades.

The passion Mr. LoRusso holds for aviation and, thereby, the protection of its people’s rights define him as a resolute advocate for his clients. He has experience representing professionals in actions before the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB); and injured parties or their families in matters of aircraft crashes. Other areas of his concentration include pilot certificate defense, appeals, administrative actions and more.

Graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2006, Mr. LoRusso enrolled at the Metropolitan State University of Denver, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in business management in 2009. His journey into the legal profession took flight after a significant tenure of five years as a professional flight instructor, during which he recognized a pressing need for dedicated and passionate legal representation for pilots.

With an ignited desire to serve the aviation community, Mr. LoRusso joined the Washburn University School of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor with a concentration on aviation law and complex civil plaintiff litigation. There, he engaged fervently in the activities of the ABA Forum on Air & Space Law and was the co-founder of the Committee on Air and Space Law.

As an individual who has been working in the aviation industry almost all his life, Mr. LoRusso considers it a profound honor to advocate for its members, combining his in-depth knowledge of the field with his acquired cognizance of law. Beyond his legal practice, he remains an active contract pilot, adding a practical dimension to his legal work.
