Matthew R. Osborne

Matthew R. Osborne is an attorney and the director of the Consumer Protection Division at Ramos Law in Northglenn, Colorado. He concentrates on protecting individuals from unfair treatment by corporations, credit agencies and financial institutions. His dedication to this work is rooted in personal experience as well as professional commitment.

Mr. Osborne’s practice centers on advocating for people harmed by inaccurate credit reporting and abusive practices by banks, collection agencies, mortgage lenders and background check companies. He also stands up to insurance providers that deny claims or use bad faith tactics. Over the course of his career, he has tried and won both jury and bench trials against major corporations, while handling hundreds of cases in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, as well as arbitration.

After starting his own firm in 2009, Mr. Osborne initially handled bankruptcies and divorces. His focus shifted when friends were harassed by collection agencies for debts they did not owe. Soon after, his own identity was stolen, and he was forced to battle banks and credit bureaus over false accounts. These challenges inspired him to dedicate his career to consumer protection.

Since then, Mr. Osborne has represented hundreds of clients facing aggressive and unlawful corporate practices. He is recognized for his persistence and compassion, as well as his ability to take on cases against powerful adversaries. For him, every case is an opportunity to help people regain control and restore fairness in their lives.

Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Osborne served five years in the United States Navy. His assignments included the Pentagon, where he was present during the 9/11 attacks, and a deployment to Iraq from 2003 to 2004. During his military service, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia College through off-duty study.

Following his honorable service, Mr. Osborne pursued his legal education at Michigan State University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2008. His blend of military discipline and academic training continues to guide his approach in the courtroom.
