Melissa Osborne

Melissa Osborne is a family and matrimonial law attorney who represents clients in divorce, custody, parenting, and financial matters. She approaches each case with an emphasis on cooperation and practical problem-solving, while ensuring her cases are trial ready. A seasoned trial lawyer, Attorney Osborne is known for strong courtroom advocacy and strategic case presentation. She has substantial experience negotiating and drafting durable financial settlements and detailed parenting plans tailored to each family’s needs. In addition to her law practice, Attorney Osborne is the State Representative for Connecticut's 16th House District, where she is an Assistant Majority Leader, a Vice Chair of the GAE Committee, and a member of the General Law and Judiciary Committees.  She is a member of the Hartford County, Simsbury Regional, and Connecticut Bar Associations, where she serves on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section.  She has been in active practice for 29 years and holds a B.S in Political Science from Hunter College and a magna cum laude Juris Doctor from New York Law School.

Melissa spent the early years of her career at top-tier international law firms, where she received expert training and honed her skills in a highly competitive field.  Melissa has represented the largest investment banks and private equity companies in complex financial transactions and, thus, brings a strong financial acumen to complex high-asset cases.  She strives to consistently provide a strategic, direct and compassionate approach to assisting her clients, focused on their future success.
