Timothy M. Herring

Timothy M. Herring is an established attorney with over two decades of experience in commercial litigation and complex disputes. He handles matters of real estate, representing landlords and tenants, and counseling them in real property litigation, tenant disputes and summary process, contractor disputes, partition claims and contract disputes. His practice is based out of Chipman Mazzucco Emerson LLC in Danbury, Connecticut.

Additionally, Mr. Herring has ample experience in business disputes, adversary proceedings, probes and fiduciary litigation, business dissolution proceedings, and mediation and arbitration. Approaching each case with a fresh perspective and a deep understanding of the law, he aims to provide his clients with representation that helps them reach their intended goal. 

Among the many cases Mr. Herring has been involved in, he notably represented the plaintiff in Caterpillar Financial Services Corp. v. M/V Cayah Michele in 2011. This was a maritime dispute within the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, which he successfully navigated through and won a verdict that was favorable for the plaintiff. Similarly, he has appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of New York. 

With a background in history, Mr. Herring pursued law studies at the University of Connecticut School of Law. While at law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Board. Upon gaining his Juris Doctor in 2004, he earned admission to practice in Connecticut. Outside of his practice, he is a member of the Greater Danbury Bar Association, where he previously served as the president and the Connecticut Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
