A Fairfield native, Mr. Carta is committed to his community, and he is actively involved in several local nonprofits organizations. In addition to serving on the board of the Silvermine Guild of Artists, he is the past president of STAR, Inc., an organization that helps special needs individuals find employment and housing, and he is one of the founding members of A Better Chance of Wilton, an organization devoted to assisting minority high school students.

A consummate professional, Mr. Carta is a member of several professional legal organizations, including the Connecticut Bar Association, where he is a fellow in the James W.
