Ian C. Butler

Ian C. Butler is an associate attorney at the law firm of Brown Paindiris & Scott, LLP, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Mr. Butler concentrates his practice on business, corporate and intellectual property law, serving clients in Glastonbury and throughout Connecticut.

Born and raised in Connecticut, Mr. Butler graduated cum laude from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. While attending law school, he received an intellectual property certificate and worked with the school’s Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic. Additionally, he was the online publications editor of the Connecticut Law Review.

Following law school, Mr. Butler passed the Connecticut bar examination and received his license to practice law before all Connecticut state courts. Prior to joining Brown Paindiris & Scott, LLP, he developed his legal skills and experience by clerking in the legal departments of two Connecticut-based Fortune 500 companies.

Since joining Brown Paindiris & Scott, LLP, Mr. Butler has advised clients on a wide range of business, corporate and intellectual property law matters. He counsels clients on topics such as buy-sell agreements, entity formation and franchising. He advocates forcefully in litigation for his clients in the fast-growing, new field of the legal cannabis industry.

Mr. Butler has earned a reputation as a respected member of his legal community, consistently providing dedicated representation and accurate legal advice designed with the best interest of his clients in mind. He is a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
