Michael J. Jones

Attorney Michael J. Jones has spent four decades honing his craft in the legal field. With a broad range of legal experience, he navigates the realms of personal injury, wrongful death, commercial and corporate litigation, residential real estate and estate litigation. As the current chair of the litigation department and a managing member at Ivey, Barnum & O'Mara, LLC, in Greenwich, Connecticut, he plays a pivotal role in steering the firm's direction.

Mr. Jones focuses his practice on personal injury, handling cases that include motor vehicle and truck accidents, slip-and-falls, premises liability, construction site injuries.

Born in The Bronx, New York, Mr. Jones graduated cum laude and with high honors from Colgate University in 1980, followed by earning his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1983. He holds bar admissions in Connecticut and New York and is qualified to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Jones’ professional affiliations include the Connecticut Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and he is a past president of the Greenwich Bar Association (2007). Additionally, he contributes his proficiency as a Special Master for the Miscellaneous Proceedings Calendar in the Stamford Superior Court.

Active in his community, Mr. Jones serves on the Advisory Board and as General Counsel for the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. His past community involvement includes the Board of the Town of Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation, volunteer work with the United Way and memberships in the Colgate University President's Club and the Colgate Football Maroon Council.
