Joshua Kons

Joshua Kons is the managing member and founder of Kons Law in Hartford, Connecticut, where his practice centers on business law and securities-related matters. A well-established Connecticut business lawyer and securities litigator, his work includes commercial transactions, commercial litigation, consumer and commercial debt collection, securities litigation, securities employment disputes, and FINRA arbitration proceedings for businesses, lenders, investors and financial professionals nationwide.

Mr. Kons’ academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earned in 2002, and a Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2006. This combination of business and legal education allows him to approach complex commercial and financial disputes with both strategic and practical insight.

Mr. Kons’ professional involvement includes membership in the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), a national organization dedicated to protecting investor rights in securities and commodities arbitration proceedings. This affiliation reflects an ongoing commitment to advancing fairness and accountability within the securities industry.

As one of Connecticut’s leading business attorneys and a “next generation” securities litigator, Mr. Kons’ extensive experience includes representing more than 1,000 individual investors and financial advisers across the United States. Mr. Kons is licensed to practice in The State Bar of California, the State Bar of Connecticut, the State Bar of Wisconsin and the State Bar of Illinois, along with admission to numerous United States District Courts across California, Wisconsin, Connecticut, North Dakota, Illinois and Colorado.

Before founding Kons Law, Mr. Kons worked as an equities trader at U.S. Bancorp, gaining firsthand experience in the securities industry. He later served as in-house counsel for General Electric (GE) and practiced with boutique business and securities law firms. In addition to his litigation practice, he maintains an active nationwide class action practice in financial services and consumer finance, helping secure more than $100 million in relief for class members since 2012.
