Kenneth G. Bartlett is a personal injury attorney with Jacoby & Meyers Accident & Injury Lawyers in Madison, Connecticut, who focuses on representing seriously injured plaintiffs in jury trials and complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice, vaccine injury and product/implant matters. He combines courtroom advocacy with appellate and claims-court work on behalf of clients throughout the region.
Mr. Bartlett earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Vermont and pursued additional studies at Wesleyan University before receiving his J.D. from Quinnipiac University in 1981. Following law school, he served as a law clerk at the Connecticut Supreme Court Building in Hartford, an experience that informed his approach to trial preparation and appellate strategy. Early in his career, he returned to intensive trial work, including a partnership at a private firm in Meriden and later service as a civil trial litigator with another firm in New Haven.
Mr. Bartlett has been board-certified as a civil trial attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1984, with recertifications in 1989, 1994 and 2003. Over the course of his practice, he has taken more than 60 personal injury matters to verdict and has handled high-profile claims – notably achieving the first Connecticut recovery for a sexual-assault victim in a case alleging inadequate security. For more than two decades, he has litigated cases involving Benedictine issues, DPT vaccine claims and silicone implants.
Active in the professional community, Mr. Bartlett is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New Jersey and is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. Claims Court. He maintains memberships in the New Haven Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and the Academy of Connecticut Civil Trial Attorneys, and he is a founding sponsor of the Civil Justice Foundation.
Mr. Bartlett has authored articles and presented frequently on medical malpractice and related topics; his piece on screening medical malpractice cases appeared in Trial Magazine, and he has served as planning co-chair and speaker for Connecticut Bar Association programs. In 2018, the judges of the United States District Court recognized him for providing exemplary pro bono representation to indigent litigants, reflecting a long-standing commitment to access to justice.
