Verdicts/Settlements:
- $5.8 million verdict awarded for patient who survived open heart surgery at a major hospital but died within days becasue hospital personnel failed to reconnect the wires of his pacemaker before giving him a potent narcotic. The jury found the hospital negligent citing deviation in standard of care.
- $1.5 million settlement with establishment who over-served a driver, plus $300,000 with the driver himself, for the estate of a young man who was killed by the drunk driver while riding his bicycle. Listed among the Top Ten settlements in the Personal Injury Yearbook, published by the Connecticut Law Tribune.
- $1.54 million jury verdict against nursing home after a patient's fall led to death within just hours of being admitted. Defense claimed a negative life expectancy for 80-year-old client and only offered $50,000 prior to trial.
