Tara C. Dugo is a founding member of Dugo Law, LLC, in Newtown, Connecticut, where she has built a distinguished family law practice since earning her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 2011. Admitted to the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) the same year and to the United States Supreme Court, she draws upon more than a decade of experience in divorce and family matters to serve clients with patience, compassion and a deep understanding of the emotional and financial complexities inherent in such transitions.
Ms. Dugo’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of cases, from high-asset divorces and intricate compensation structures to matters involving modest estates. Whether advocating for a fair division of property, negotiating post-judgment modifications or enforcing court orders, she approaches each matter with meticulous attention to detail. She also handles delicate issues such as alimony terminations, parenting plans and custody disputes, always prioritizing the well-being of her clients and any children involved.
An accomplished appellate attorney, Ms. Dugo dedicates a significant portion of her practice to appeals in both the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Connecticut Supreme Court. Her appellate work reflects her skill in legal research, persuasive writing and oral advocacy, qualities that have earned her respect among her peers and favorable outcomes for clients facing complex family law issues.
Beyond her law practice, Ms. Dugo is deeply committed to the legal profession’s development and to expanding access to justice. She currently chairs the Limited Scope Representation Committee of the CBA and has previously co-chaired the Fairfield County Bar Association’s “Women and the Law” and “Appellate Law” executive committees. She has served in the CBA’s District 4 House of Delegates and as co-chair of the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Committee for the Young Lawyers Section.
Ms. Dugo also contributes her knowledge as a special master in Stamford Superior Court and has volunteered extensively, coordinating the Statewide Lawyers in the Classroom program, supporting high school mock trial competitions through CT Civics First and providing pro bono assistance to self-represented litigants via the Volunteer Attorney Program. Her leadership, community service and steadfast dedication continue to define her as a trusted advocate and mentor in Connecticut’s legal community.
