David B. Zabel

David B. Zabel is a member of Marino, Zabel & Schellenberg, PLLC, in Orange, Connecticut. Mr. Zabel has over 30 years of experience as a litigation and employment law attorney, representing clients throughout Connecticut.

Mr. Zabel has litigated many complex matters involving bankruptcy, employment law, legal ethics, municipal law, probate, real estate and trust matters. He has appeared before state and federal courts and been involved in complex arbitration proceedings. As an employment attorney, he has experience with issues such as unlawful discrimination, employee discipline, policies and procedures, workplace investigations and wrongful discharge.

The recipient of many honors and awards for his accomplishments, Mr. Zabel holds an AV Preeminent* rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting his high legal capability and ethical standards. The Best Lawyers in America has listed him in its publication many years in a row and Benchmark Litigation has named him a “Local Litigation Star.” 

Mr. Zabel belongs to the Connecticut Bar Association’s Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section and the Greater Bridgeport Bar Association’s Labor Law Committee. The Connecticut Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut have presented him with pro bono awards, and he is a former chairman of the Fire Commission in Fairfield, Connecticut. 

Mr. Zabel earned a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He holds licenses to practice law before the state courts of Connecticut and New Jersey; federal courts in Connecticut, New Jersey and Vermont; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit; and the Supreme Court of the United States.
