Howard R. Graber

Howard R. Graber is the co-founding partner of GraberRoberts, LLC. Howard has focused his practice (25 years as the Law Office of Howard R. Graber) almost exclusively on family law and has represented clients throughout that time within lower Fairfield County in divorce (and post-divorce) matters such as child custody disputes, child support and alimony arrangements, division of assets, defense of or challenges to prenuptial/postnuptial agreements, and other complex custodial and financial issues. Understanding that his clients are often under significant stress and dealing with highly emotional matters, whenever possible Howard helps them to settle their differences through mediation rather than litigation, however he deems his experience in and readiness to perform trial work as extremely helpful in achieving fair and equitable mediated results.

After graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in finance from Long Island University in 1986, Howard earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Bridgeport School of Law, now known as Quinnipiac University School of Law, in 1990. He subsequently clerked for the Connecticut Judicial Branch for two years, after which he formed the Law Office of Howard R. Graber in October, 1992. Although Howard commenced his career as a general practitioner, which included trial by jury and to the Court (and he still excepts personal injury matters from time to time), he quickly turned his main focus to "family law" and has continued on that course for several decades. Howard is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York.

Howard has often shared his more than 30 years of civil and family law litigation experience (often in intricate high profile cases) in a variety of print and broadcast media outlets. His commentary has been included in publications such as People magazine, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, and he has appeared as a featured guest on nationally (and locally) televised news broadcasts. Since 2009, Howard has been consistently selected to Connecticut Super Lawyers and New England Super Lawyers for Family Law. Howard has been selected, 2018-2024 consecutively, as one of the Top 50 attorneys in Connecticut by *Super Lawyers.
