Details

In 2018, Thomas D. Colin returned to Siegel, Colin & Kaufman after spending five years as a trial court judge in his field. This gives him a unique perspective on family law and divorce from the bench and as legal representation for his clients. He primarily serves Connecticut clients in Fairfield County, including the Greenwich, Darien and Westport areas.

Mr. Colin completed a B.A. in 1989 at the C.W. Post College. He then completed his law degree in 1992 at St. John's University School of Law. From there, he went on to earn several bar admissions. These include Connecticut, Maine, New York, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Shortly after completing his law degree, he served as a law clerk in Maine for Justice Paul L. Rudman of the Supreme Judicial Court. He then became an attorney, before serving as a judge from 2013 to 2018. His wealth of experience has also earned him notable recognition from prestigious organizations. Mr. Colin was named one of the Best Lawyers in America for three years. He also received the Lawyer of the Year Award in 2011 for Family Law, Greenwich.

Mr. Colin is an active member of several professional organizations in his field. In addition to this, he has served in leadership roles. For example, he served on the Board of Managers for the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers from 2001 to 2013.
