Jason Spilka

Jason Spilka is a Connecticut criminal defense attorney with the Kaloidis Law Firm who has spent the past four years in court almost every day, defending clients facing everything from a first-time DUI to shootings and fatal car crashes. He regularly represents clients in the courthouses in Waterbury, Danbury, Derby, Meriden, New Britain, Milford, and Torrington, and has appeared in nearly every courthouse in the state.

Attorney Spilka has been part of a defense team that has taken at least four cases to trial, including a home invasion trial and two sexual assault trials. He has cross-examined applicants in more than ten contested restraining order hearings and has argued for reduced sentences in multiple right-to-argue cases. He prepares every case as if it is going to trial, because being trial-ready is what produces results, whether a case ends before a jury or at the negotiating table.

His practice includes DUI and OUI charges, drug offenses, assault, firearms charges, domestic violence and restraining orders, sexual assault, home invasion, and vehicular homicide. No case is too large, and no case is too small.

Before becoming a defense attorney, Attorney Spilka interned at three District Attorney's Offices in Massachusetts and California, including a semester as a law clerk at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, the largest prosecutor's office in the country. That experience gives him direct insight into how prosecutors build cases and how to challenge them.

He has been with the Kaloidis Law Firm since 2021, starting as a summer associate under Attorney John Kaloidis, and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in October 2022. He earned his J.D. from the University of Massachusetts School of Law – Dartmouth and his B.A. in Criminology, with a minor in Spanish, from Stonehill College.
