  • I received a verdict of $2.2 million in a hotly contested medical malpractice case against Opticare. My client suffers from glaucoma and claimed that Opticare failed to diagnose it for a period of 8 years from 2005-2013. The defense never made an offer and defended on liability, causation and also statute of limitations. We claimed that the case fell into the continuing course of conduct and treatment exceptions of the statute of limitations. We offered to settle for $750,000 but the defense never made an offer, 2017
  • Verdict of $75,000 (over $80,000 with offer of compromise interest) in case where Commerce insured rear-ended the plaintiff. The plaintiff had no permanent impairment and two prior accidents with similar injuries.  Pretrial offer was $35,000 and demand was $40,000. Case was tried in Rockville Superior Court, 2016
  • Verdict of $41,500 in case against Peerless Insurance where pretrial offer was $13,000. Case involved 27 year-old plaintiff with chiropractic treatment of 5% permanent partial disability to cervical spine, 2015
  • Verdict of $51,000 for plaintiff against defendant driver insured by Liberty Mutual. Offer was $7,800. Plaintiff had $5,000 in medicals and half was for an MRI. He had 8% PPD to his back, but accident occurred 18 months after a discectomy surgery where treating doctor said he would have had 15% permanency prior to the accident. Liability was also disputed and defendant pled special defenses blaming plaintiff. Jury gave 100% liability to the defendant, 2012
  • Verdict of $111,000 in UM case against Allstate. Minimal property damage on plaintiff's vehicle ($1,100) and no property damage to defendant's vehicle. Liability disputed. Plaintiff had 14% permanency with no surgery or herniations related to the accident, but died unrelated to the accident 4.5 years after it occurred, so non-economic damages were limited to 4.5 years. Allstate offered $15,000 to settle the case.  Jury gave plaintiff 10% liability so net verdict was $100,100.  There will also be offer of compromise interest, 2013
  • Settled wrongful death case where decedent froze to death after being dropped off by a state representative in freezing cold weather after the two ran into each other at a local bar, 2012
