A partner with the law firm of Needle | Cuda, Alexander J. Cuda is committed to providing families throughout the Fairfield County area and Connecticut with tenacious and compassionate legal representation in family law matters. His cases involve child custody, divorce, premarital and postnuptial agreements, and financial support. He has represented clients throughout the State of Connecticut, and before the Superior, Appellate, and Supreme Courts.
Mr. Cuda graduated from Cornell University in 2000 with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Latin and Comparative Literature, for which he graduated magna cum laude. He then attended Tulane University Law School where he received a Juris Doctor in 2003 and a Master of Laws in 2004. While attending law school, Mr. Cuda served as the senior articles editor for the Law & Sexuality Journal, was selected to the Moot Court Appellate Competition Team, and volunteered with various organizations including the NO/AIDS Task Force.
Mr. Cuda uses his experience and knowledge to help clients at the trial and appellate levels, dedicating his time fully to family law. He is Vice Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Family Law Section, where also serves on committees addressing cutting edge issues facing the bar. He is co-chair of the Fairfield County Bar Association (FCBA) Family Law Committee, and has previously served on the Board of the FCBA. Mr. Cuda frequently gives and organizes seminars for his colleagues and writes on the subject of family law, including publications in the Connecticut Law Tribune and several years of speaking to a statewide audience of lawyers and related professionals at the Connecticut Legal Conference.
Community involvement is important to Mr. Cuda, especially when it concerns children. He has represented children from the age of 2 months to 17 years old, and he was a recipient of the CBA Pro Bono Award in 2009 in relation to his representation of an infant with DCF involvement. In addition to his work with children, he has participated in the Yale Mock Trial Tournament as a judge and he continues to volunteer with family-oriented community organizations.
